Machine printing
Machine printing covers the use of a printing machine/s as a tool for applying pressure to inked surface breaks above print mediums (such as paper or board), so as to transfer ink. Students partaking this course will be dealing with the printing on paper and board using lithographic printing process. Lithography/Lithographic and offset printing, or litho printing for short, is where the image of the content you want to produce is placed on a plate which is then covered in ink and used for printing. It uses the principle that water and greasy does not mix. This process can be used to print on paper, cardboard and metal decorations. The majority of office stationery, book work and food carton are printed using this method. It also stretches to security printing of bank notes, check books, postal stamps and other highly confidential documents.
