Construction Technology
The course is designed to develop a Construction Technologist with knowledge, skills and attitudes required to satisfy research and development needs of the Construction Engineering and related industries. Consideration will be made with reference to gender mainstreaming, environment for sustainable economic development, physical or mental challenges and health dispositions; and the intersections between race, class and culture. Students will be able to use computers in the Construction Trades through the application of appropriate research methodology and problem solving thus embracing the concept of STEM. The minimum course duration is 1140 hours spread over a period of one (1) year of institutional training. The minimum entry requirements are a National Diploma in Construction Technology, Construction Trades or equivalent. The mode of study is Part-Time. Assessments are done through final written examinations and continuous assessment.
