I would like to take this opportunity to share and outline Harare Polytechnic's vision and mission in our endeavor to produce a high quality graduate.

We are committed to developing a “competitive patriotic graduate with high quality technopreneurial, production, research and consultancy skills”.

•  Patriotic Graduate: - all our students are required to undertake National Strategic Studies, a compulsory subject, which is designed to instill a sense of patriotism and to nurture a valuable sense of nationalistic pride in all of our graduates.

•  High quality technopreneurial and production skills: - all our students are introduced to entrepreneurship concepts and are also equipped with industrial oriented production skills.

•  High quality research and consultancy skills: - We recognize that there is a need to produce a graduate capable of developing and or providing products/services using local raw materials and introducing appropriate technology that will help turn around the Zimbabwean economy into self-sufficiency. Thus the students are required to carryout a research project that is industry oriented and students will spend a considerable amount of time carrying out the research project.

One very famous motivational writer once wrote: “ There is no hope of success for the person who does not have a central purpose, or definite goal at which to aim”. Thus as an institution, we recognize the need for our students to have a purpose and a goal.

I trust that you will all find a fertile, stimulating and humane environment suitable for personal growth and development at this institution.
